Twenty six years ago, a mother was praying for her unborn child. Her prayers included that her child have a voice that would honor God in one way or another. That child was Anna Benton and she’s been singing every day since.
Born and raised in Richmond Hill, Anna went to Thomas University on a softball scholarship after graduating from Calvary Day School. She met and married JR Benton in March of 2015 and moved back to Richmond Hill in 2016 when he was hired by a local church. Anna found employment with the city as the Planning and Zoning Technician where she handles the permitting process.
Together, the Benton’s are using their God given talents to record a new album set to release this summer. Anna sings while her husband plays guitar to four original songs on the Extended Play album they’re recording with Fader & Knob Studio and a host of other close friends with similar musical talents.
You may have already listened to her cover of “You Say” by Lauren Daigle or other snippets of country, rock and contemporary Christian songs in her short but engaging and spirited music uploads on her Facebook page.
With a husband who compliments her passions, two foster sons and now an album on the way, Anna is seeing her lifelong dreams come to fruition.
When you hear Anna Benton sing, it’s clear that her mother’s prayers were answered in the most illuminating way, the light of the Lord shines through the vessel that is her voice.
