When I think of a leader and the qualities a leader should embody, I think of a person who has a servant’s heart. My mind envisions someone who has shown service and dedication to family, community, and country. Having the ability to keep the focus on the greater good of the community they are elected to serve and to have enough knowledge and strength to not only know what the needs are but how to solve complex problems concerning a large group is vitally important.
What better person is there than my friend, David London.
David’s service began with leadership roles in high school. He then attended West Point and served our country in the US Army. David retired as a Lt. Col after 23 years of service. Since he retired, he has been giving back as an educator and Senior JROTC instructor. He continues to show dedication to bettering the community by pouring time and energy into our youth.
David has maintained family strength by leading at home and loving his beautiful wife, Angela, for 22 years. Together, they are raising three kind, intelligent, and capable children who all had the benefit of growing up and graduating from Richmond Hill schools.
Dave has served as band booster treasurer for the last 3 years, managing the challenging financial needs of 200 students and their families. David has been a Cub Scout leader, and he currently leads a team of volunteers at Compassion Christian Church.
Dave has been to nearly every City Council meeting for the last year and has a frim grasp on the issues we face as a city. Negotiating contracts, writing and maintaining budgets, leadership, interpersonal relationships, were all key to a successful military career. He has amazing solutions. Dave will listen to you, the citizens, and make sure your concerns are met with understanding and relayed to city hall in a timely manner. When you can meet him, you’ll also see that he is a humble man who relates to everyone because he truly cares for people and wants the best for our community.
Please take the time to read David’s answers on the Richmond Hill 411 page and in other news outlets. See for yourself that he has the wisdom, knowledge, and passion to serve. David’s answers to pointed and specific questions will prove to you he is the most qualified and informed candidate for Richmond Hill City Council Post 2.
